What is The Red Sparrow Press?

The Red Sparrow is a small independent publisher of books that appeal to younger readers, Young Adults and families... Our first five books are now out and widely available and include This exciting epic fairytale-fantasy series and a super bouncy story about a magical-mystical Dragon Café...

Be there at the start to share these adventurous flights of the imagination with The Red Sparrow!

and keep up with our new titles, author events and creative workshops right here, on this Red Sparrow Blog...

The Red Sparrow Press started out as an imprint of Questing Beast Books - the award-winning small press based in the heart of Snowdonia who have been publishing The Scrawl since the year 2000 (a literary magazine recently recognised by the National Library of Wales as “an important part of Wales’ documentary heritage”).

The Scrawl chatted with some of our authors and illustrators about their favourite books
- you can read those interviews here:

and you may find these informative and exclusive Scrawl interviews with other YA authors of interest, too:

SUPPORT THE RED SPARROW

We are looking into setting up a Petreon account, but really, if you want to support The Red Sparrow, our writers, and our Young Aviators of the Imagination, then please buy one of our books - we think you will agree, they are very reasonably priced and the most rewarding of reads!

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES

We really would love to publish more fine fiction for younger readers, but at present The Red Sparrow is operating with no additional funding other than that generated by sales of our published books. Right now we run as a cooperative and rely far too much on the generosity of our volunteers and on our excellent authors doing much of their own 'leg-work'. The more books we sell, the more we will be able to publish.

So watch this space and we hope we'll be able to throw open our mailboxes for fresh submissions from new and exciting authors, but right now, readers are our heroes!
